Bio
Christian Howse is a singer-songwriter from Newfoundland, Canada, who is making waves in the East Coast music scene. Releasing his fifth album, ‘Liminal’, Christian’s raw talent and dedication to his craft shines through his music.
The project, Liminal, was begun months before the Covid 19 Pandemic, but turned out to be a very apt theme for the times.
Defined as: liminal: an intermediate state, phase, or condition : IN-BETWEEN, TRANSITIONAL
This record tells stories of life, tales of people in that place of transition. The musical elements support each message, enhancing Christian Howse’s poetic ability with lyrics.
Launching on the heels of the critically acclaimed recording, ‘Letters’, Christian Howse brings a full band sound and a mainstream approach to his follow-up project, ‘Liminal’. In this first single, “Stuck”, Christian explores the complexities of a modern relationship. While Christian handles the vocals and acoustic guitars, the track also features stellar work by Nick Earle on electric guitar and Dan George on percussion.
Christian Howse’s previous projects can be described as a cross between Donovan Woods and Daniel Champagne. The new release, Liminal, takes an edgier approach, and sets Christian firmly in the role of songwriter and social observer. “The songs are exceptional and Christian delivers them with an earnest and quirky appeal” says Dean Stairs, producer for the Liminal project.
Christian’s most recent Nominations include a 2018 Nomination for Canadian Folk Music Young Performer of the Year, and 3 MusicNL Nominations for 2019, Rising Star, Male Artist, and Folk/Roots Artist of the Year.
The Newfoundland Herald calls Howse a “musical prodigy....embarrassingly talented...” and “everything you want in an artist.”
About Christian’s Guitar:
Howse has also caught the interest of Furch/Stonebridge guitars who recently signed him as one of their featured artists, joining the ranks of Jenn Grant, Dave Gunning and Ewan Dobson.
